Impactful solutions within tight deadlines
As the sole designer in an 80-person team at Bond, I was responsible for all design efforts, collaborating closely with a marketing agency. My primary focus was on the end-to-end software design of a new Fleet Management System (FMS) and the Hyper App, a solution for the burgeoning long-term bike rental model.

Problem Statement
Bond needed to transition away from third-party fleet management systems to create an in-house, user-friendly solution tailored specifically to the e-bike sharing business. This project, executed within a tight timeframe of six months, required an extremely user-centered and lean design process. Additionally, we faced a surge in demand for long-term e-bike rentals from delivery drivers in Zurich, necessitating a swift, one-month development of the Hyper App to manage bike access and usage.
Solution
To kickstart the Fleet Management System (FMS) project, I conducted interviews with key members from customer service, operations, business analysts, and management teams. This helped identify pain points and define the technical intersections with Bond’s app requirements. A detailed analysis of the three third-party systems in use also provided critical insights. The Hyper App was designed in just one month to cater to the specific needs of delivery drivers in Zurich. This app allowed drivers to open and close their bikes, monitor usage, and track itineraries, integrating seamlessly with the FMS to enhance internal processes and reduce maintenance costs. The design process was collaborative, involving close coordination with the tech team to ensure simplicity and efficiency, utilizing Nebular library components for the FMS front-end, and always prioritizing business-critical user flows.

Result
The implementation of the new Fleet Management System and Hyper App led to more efficient management of the existing fleet. Maintenance margins improved, bike availability in high-demand areas increased, and human effort was significantly reduced. The Hyper App specifically enabled delivery drivers to manage their long-term rentals more effectively, contributing to smoother operations and cost savings in maintenance.
This project exemplifies how a lean, user-centered design approach can deliver impactful solutions within tight timelines, driving operational efficiency and enhancing user experience.
